Cuti dan Jalan-jalan / Leave and Hang out

Yuhuiii!!!

Tapi ya sudahlah, hitung-hitung bertambah lagi pengalaman saya. Mau dibilang rugi banget juga tidak.

So anyway by the way, saya langsung membuat janji jalan dengan bu Martha begitu cuti saya di’legal’kan.

Sik.. asyik… pastilah saya datang.

Hehe. Gimana nih?

"Ah, cuek ajalah naik tangga" kata Bu Martha "Paling kalo salah ntar dipriwitin sama satpam".

Dasar emak-emak. Itu hidung gesit aja deh nyium bau makanan.. hehe.

Demonya ok.

Kebanyakan cuap-cuap MC-nya. Yang lain mungkin suka tapi buat saya malah bikin ngantuk. Jadi deh saya nyenderin kepala ke bahunya Bu Martha, terus gantian ke bahunya Tante Liana. Untung kiri kanan saya pada montok, enak buat dijadikan tempat nyender. Hehe..

“Kan abis jalan-jalan sama bu Martha” saya nyengir. Duh, udah nongol pake jeans dan baju kaos gini kok masih dikira saya datang untuk kerja?

“Wisata kuliner ya?” dia balas nyengir.

Yep, betul, bro.

I’m taking my leave at last! And I’m gonna have the most of it.

In my 18 years of work experience and of all the leave I have taken, I think this one is the most unique. It is because after working here for a year there is still no clear indication about my employment.

It already feels as if I just grab my leave. First it is because there is no clear indication about how many leave days are given to me. The second is because though I have talked about taking a leave since the second week of June, I didn’t see any follow up made after 1st of July when I made a year working in this place.

Seeing this made me just sent a letter mentioning the dates I chose to be my leave days. If I waited until everything is taken care, God knows when would that be.

I mean, all work place demand us to give everything we have and cast away our personal needs and feelings but, heck, at least they should not make their workers feel insecure about their employement.

Well yeah.., so I just adding this into my pile of experience. I’ve got nothing to lose.

Mrs. Martha and I set up the date, Monday, 9th July, to hang out together once they ‘legalized’ my leave days.

At church on Sunday, 8th July, as we were discussing our plan..

“Are you taking your leave tomorrow?” asked a lady “why don’t you come with us to cooking show at Salak Hotel at 9 am?”

Sure. I’ll be there. Mrs. Martha agreed to go there too.

The next day I’ve got at the church since 7.30 am because I needed to go to the bank at 8 am to transfer seminar fee.

“Aren’t you supposed to be on leave today? What are you doing here?” asked the security to me.

Am I not a role model for a good employee or not? I was on leave and still did a little work. Well, I agreed to meet Mrs. Martha here so we could go to Salak Hotel together.

We got there few minutes before 9 am. “The show is held in the second floor” said the receptionist. But how would we go there? We saw no elevator. The only stair we saw had a sign ‘VIP only’. This made us hesitated to go up the stair.

“Oh what the hell, let’s just take the stair” said Mrs. Martha “The worst thing that could ever happen to us is being thrown away by the security if it’s off limit for the un-VIP”. I laughed it out loud.

So up we went to the second floor. But once we got there, why would it be so quiet? It said it would be held at 9 am, right? So where is everybody?

“Just followed the smell” Mrs. Martha sniffed the air that filled with the smell of meals. I laughed again. Her nose worked like a good radar.

Well, the cooking show was ok. So did the goodie bag and the chefs. The only thing that is not ok is why it started one hour late of the scheduled time? If only we knew it would be that late, we wouldn’t leave the church in such a hurry.

Another thing is the interval between presenting one meal to the next meal was taking too much time. This made us had to hear the MC talked. Others may find it entertaining but to me it was boring and making me feel sleepy. Good thing for me to sit between Mrs. Martha and Mrs. Liana who are both curvy. I took turned to lay my head down on their broad shoulders. Lol.

Finally, I was able to take photo of this old house
After attending the cooking show we went to Sukasari streest. The food sold there is not outstandingly impressive. The thing that makes me always like this particular street is for being the location of Bogor’s sort of Chinatown and old town.

We walked back and forth in this street that it made my middle finger had muscle cramp just when we were crossing the street on our way home. Lucky I wasn’t alone. I grabbed Mrs. Martha’s arm as I couldn’t walk well.

We got back at the church at around 3.30 pm to rest before went home.

“I thought you were taking a leave today” my colleague was surprised to find me there.

“I went out with Martha” I grinned. Man, could you tell from my jeans and tshirt that I certainly wouldn’t come to work with these kind of outfits..

“Having culinary trip?” he grinned back at me.

Yep, that’s right, bro.

I actually haven’t been hanging out in quite a long time out of the trip I made when my work place made an outing event.

It was another story when I worked in Jakarta. The guys at work and I would go out to dinner and club hopping after work till midnight or even till dawn. I was lucky to find work place where the bosses were single and so they wouldn’t mind to join us. It was even went further as it became dates when I dated few of them. Some lasted to become my boyfriend.

Our definition of hang out at that time is dining and went to pub, bar or club. Shopping mall or factory outlet were off the agenda.

During those times our hang out time would go till midnight or even dawn. Went back to the flat, bathed, had light breakfast and off to work if it was Saturday or went straight to Bogor if tomorrow would be Sunday.

I would always end up sleeping in the train to Bogor. Once I dated a co-worker whose home town is also in Bogor. We both would fell to sleep once we boarded the train to Bogor. What a pair… lol.

But that was then. That wild lifestyle changed once I got work in Bogor and as I grow older. So they have tamed me.. lol.. in some ways..

My definition of hanging out these days are going out with friends to dine or went sight seeing. I still dislike going to malls unless if there is bookstore there.

So anyway, I had good time on the first day of my leave.
