Nah, cerita perjalanan saya ke Malang masih berlanjut disini.
So, my Malang trip
continues in this post.
Catatan tentang segala krintilan persiapan sebelum berangkat
bisa dibaca dipostingan saya sebelumnya (Planning
a Trip, di posting tanggal 22 Februari 2016).
My scribble about
all the tit and tat of the prep I made before I went on this trip can be read
in my previous post (Planning a trip, posted on 22 February 2016).
Berhubung ceritanya panjang maka saya pecah dalam beberapa
postingan. Planning a Trip bercerita tentang hal-hal sebelum
saya berangkat, All Aboard bercerita
tentang perjalanan saya pp Malang-Bogor.
Since it is a long
story I note it in few posts. Planning a Trip tells about the stuff I did
before I left, All Aboard tells about my Malang-Bogor round trip.
The story about my
stay in Batu, Malang, will be posted later. For time being it’s all still a
draft inside my mind and has no title.

“Serius lu mau ke Malang sendiri?” tanya seorang teman saya.
“Are you serious
about going to Malang all by yourself?” asked a friend.
“Iya” jawab saya.
“Yes” was my
answered.
“Ke, mau ke Malang?’ tanya rekan saya “Sama siapa?”
“Keke, you are
going to Malang?” asked a colleague “Who will go with you?”
“Sendiri, bu” jawab saya kalem.
“By myself,
ma’am” I calmly answered her.
“Saya temenin kamu ya?” Andre menatap saya ketika dia
mengetahui saya bakal pergi sendiri.
“I will come
along with you, ok?” Andre looked at me when he knew I would go on my own on
this trip.
“Ah, ga usah!” tolak saya tegas.
“No way!” I
declined firmly.
Orang-orang yang mengetahui saya akan pergi sendiri
rata-rata reaksinya tidak percaya, menganggap saya nekad, gila, kurang kerjaan
atau mencemaskan saya.
People who knew
I would go alone gave reactions either disbelief, thinking I was daring, mad,
had nothing to do or worried about me.
How about my
parents? Yes, they knew about my trip to Malang but they didn’t know I went
there all by myself.
Kalau mengikuti mau orang tua saya, hmm.. maunya mereka sih
My parents
wishes are like, hmm.. they want me to be a sweet kid, go to work from morning
to afternoon, going back home after that and not going anywhere, get married,
raised a family..
kontroversi.
Now I have no
desire to live that kind of life. I always have many wishes, dreams, hopes,
rebelation and controversy.
So I took the very
far round trip, moved by the desire to meet a friend, bestfriend and sister
whom I haven’t met for seven months since we bid our farewell in Ambon.
I left with
faith, firmly believed that though I was alone physically but God who created
the sky, earth and holds the lives of every living creature is with me. So what
was it that I needed to fear and worry?
I left the walls
that imprisoned me, I was for a moment free of responsibility that make me have
to live the life that against my wish, I was free of the sickening fakeness
that suffocates the soul.

Pasar Senen.
Since
this was an adventure, I insisted I had to do it all by myself so I left alone
to Pasar Senen train station.
Kalau mau ke stasiun Pasar Senen, naiklah kereta jurusan ke
Jatinegara tapi jangan turun disana.
If you
want to go to Pasar Senen train station, take the train to Jatinegara but don’t
get off there. Get off at Gang Sentiong train station and take the train from
the opposite direction because only train from Jatinegara stops in Pasar Senen
train station.
I
spent almost three hours to get to Pasar Senen train station because of the
traffic and to have to wait so long for the train to come.

Saya sampai di stasiun kereta api Pasar Senen jam 6 sore!
I got at Pasar
Senen train station at 6 pm!
Doh, saya sudah senewen setengah mati. Keretanya berangkat
jam 6.30 dan saya baru sampe setengah jam sebelumnya! Mana saya masih harus ngeprint
tiket.. alamak, tempat ngeprintnya aja
gue kagak tau ada dimana..
Goodness, I was
freakingly nervous. The train left at 6.30 pm and I have got only half hour
left. I haven’t printed my ticket.. damn
it, I didn’t even know where the place to print it..
“Sir!” I
exclaimed to a railway officer infront of exit gate as I showed him my ticket payment
receipt “Where can I get my ticket printed?”
“CTM ada di dekat Indomaret” jawabnya.
“CTM is near
Indomaret convenient store” was his replied.
Nah, apa pula itu CTM? Dan ada dibelahan dunia manakah
lokasi Indomaret? Aduh, lagi super duper
senewen gini, ketemu pula sama orang yang irit banget kasih keterangan..
What the hell
CTM stands for? And in what part of universe is this Indomaret located? Geez, I was freakingly nervous and I met
somebody who gave out less information.
Ternyata CTM itu adalah Cetak Tiket Mandiri.. cetak tiket
anda sendiri.
CTM stands for
Self-Print Ticket.. print your own ticket.
tiketnya beda.
So, to those who
usually go abroad or out of town by plane and never take the train like me, it
is a different way to get the ticket.
mesinnya ngadat.
At the airport
when we do the check-in, we go to the counter and hand out our ticket receipt
and ID card to the officer incharge there. The officer will do the
crosschecking, input the needed data and print our ticket. Isn’t it nice.. don’t
give us any trouble, not confusing or panicking us for not understand how to do
it or when the machine is down.
kosong disampingnya.
In train station
that operates inter-town service as Pasar Senen, they have like an ATM machine.
There is a monitor and keyboard on it. It is touch screen. On the monitor
screen you can see booking code and a blank box next to it.
Lihat struk pembayaran tiket anda, cari tulisan kode booking
Look at your
ticket receipt, find booking code on it and type that code (consists of letters
and numbers) that is written next to it.
Once we have
typed the booking code, press the Cari/Search button on the screen and the
machine next to keyboard will automatically print the ticket. After that just
pulled it out, carefully as not to tear it into pieces.. lol..
Since there are
many people need to print their ticket on this CTM machine, you better come at
least an hour before your train departing so you don’t have to be freakingly
nervous like I did.
Running out of
time made me had to be smart on selecting the line. The one that had an officer
next to the CTM machine and the line moved fast, that was the one I choose.
sempat memotret mesin CTM. Tapi waktu saya berada di stasiun kereta api Malang,
saya punya banyak waktu sebelum kereta saya berangkat jadi saya sempat memotret
mesin CTM disana. Bentuknya sedikit berbeda tapi sistem dan cara kerjanya
persis sama.
Oh, since I was
running out of time, I didn’t get a chance to take picture of CTM machine. But
when I was in Malang train station, I have got plenty of time before my train
departed so I could take picture of the CTM machine in there. It looks a bit
different but the system and that thing works the same.

Hampir jam 6.30 ketika saya sampai di peron. Wah, keretanya
saking takutnya ketinggalan kereta..
It was nearly 6.30 pm when I got at the platform. Man, the train wasn't there.. thank God but remembering all the hectic I had to go through for fearing I would miss it...
Saya menemukan kursi kosong.. menghenyakkan diri keatasnya,
milik saya.
I
found an empty seat.. I sat there, relieved to be able to get free from two
backpacks and a big plastic bag that contained with four boxes of taro cake, a
box of unyil bread and few of my stuff.
Keretanya baru datang kira-kira lima belas menit kemudian.
Terlambat. Nyebelin. Tapi disisi lain saya jadi bisa istirahat dulu, menelpon
ke rumah, mengatur napas dan mendinginkan diri.
The
train arrived about fifteen minutes later. It was late. Sucks. But in other
side it gave me some time to rest, called home, took a breath and chilled.
Hujan turun dari sore tapi saya malah kepanasan. Mungkin
Pasar Senen. Lumayan juga, sore-sore gue ngebakar entah berapa ratus kalori..
hehe..
It
rained in the afternoon but I was sweating. Maybe because I was nervous added
with had to half running with all the luggage to find the place to print my
ticket and had to take the stairs.. yeah, that is how Pasar Senen train station
is. Not so bad, I don’t know how many calories I have burnt that evening.

Kondisi kereta harusnya dibuat
The
condition of the train I was taking should be made more comfortable considering
the passenger has to spend more than ten hours aboard it.
dong sandaran kursinya jangan tegak lurus begitu. Hampir enam belas jam saya
Ok so
that is cheap economy train but man, could they just position the seat is not
that upright? I spent nearly sixteen hours on board it.. dude, my back and ass
felt as stiff as pieces of wood.
Setiap jam saya terbangun.
Obviously
not a place to get a nice rest, let alone to sleep soundly. I woke up every
hour.
habis.
The
compartment of Majapahit train that I took had dim lights, AC was not cold and
ran out of water in the toilet before it reached Malang.
It is
a different thing with Jayabaya train that I took from Malang to Pasar Senen.
The lights were bright, the AC made me shivered and have plenty of water in the
toilet.

I
was so very exhausted, sleepy, starving, smell and dirty when the train got in
Malang. All I wanted at that time was to eat, bath and sleep.
Tapi ketika saya mendekati pintu keluar, tiba-tiba saya
But when I got to the exit
gate, suddenly I heard someone called out for me and I saw Dessy waved her
hands excitedly. She ran to me and before I got a chance to tell her that I
smelled and dirty, she hugged and kissed me.
Ah.. rasanya segala penderitaan selama hampir delapan belas
Gosh.. it felt those nearly
eighteen hours of struggle on that long journey was gone right away.. the
feelings of hunger, sleepy and tired were forgotten as I was so happy to meet
her.
Ini adalah persahabatan dan persaudaraan untuk seumur
hidup..
This is a friendship and
sisterhood for life..
