“Doggie baunya kayak ikan asin” kata Dio, murid les saya.
“Bukan, kayak telor asin” kata Joan, kakaknya.
“Si Doggie baunya sudah kayak karpet yang kehujanan” kata
bokap.
Grrrrrr!!!... kagak terima nih tuannya… hehe. Masa anjing
Tapi jangan membayangkan semua
berjalan mulus karena Doggie menggoyang-goyangkan kepalanya, mengatupkan
mulutnya kuat-kuat dan menyembur-nyembur odol bercampur air dan liurnya.
Wadoohh!!
Kelar urusan gosok gigi, barulah mandi. Musim hujan bikin
udara dingin jadi Doggie dimandikan dengan air panas. Ya, jangan membayangkan
mandi di bathtub dengan air panas dari keran. Hehe. Airnya ya di masak dulu di
kompor. Lalu di campur dengan air dingin di ember.
Byur. Di siram air dulu. Baru di gosok dengan sabun.
Tantangannya waktu mau menyabuni atau membilas bagian kepala, moncong, telinga,
kaki dan bokongnya.
Pokoknya kelar mandiin Doggie, badan saya ikut basah
setengahnya. Hehe.

Next target of cleaning is Doggie.
“Doggie smells like salty fish” said Dio, one of my English tutoring student.
“No, it smells like salty egg” said his sister, Joan.
“Doggie smells like a wet carpet” said my dad.
Grrrrrr!!!... I don’t accept my beloved dog is called stink. Come on, Doggie, let’s get you a bath.
The thing is bathing Doggie needs extra energy and time
because it is not a small dog. The process is not simple.
First is brushing its teeth. Doggie hates it. I have to hold
its muzzle, force to open it and brush the teeth. Don’t imagine it stands
still. Oh no. It shakes its head, close its mouth and spitting out the
toothpaste mixed with its saliva. Yikes!
After the teeth, comes the bathing part. Since it is the
rainy season, I bath it with hot water. Now, don’t imagine bathing it in a
bathtub and the hot water tap. No. I boil water in a big kettle and pour the
hot water into a big bucket, mix it with some cold water.
The next challenge is bathing. Doggie hates it when I scrub
it with soap and pour the water.
One thing for sure is after the bath, half of my body is
wet.
So neither the dog or the master likes it but both
like the outcome. Doggie is clean and smells good. I am not the only one who
likes to hug it. My tutoring kids do too.
