Merentangkan tangan.
Kantor begitu jauh rasanya.
Kebawelan ibu-ibu berkurang drastis.
Damai.
Surga.
Woooooiiiiii!
Wooohooo!
Bangun! Ngelamun aje!
Wake up! Stop daydreaming like that!
Asyik banget itu ngebayangin lagi duduk-duduk di pinggir pantai sampe mata jadi merem melek kayak dukun lagi merapal mantera.
It were such a dream, weren't it? Picturing yourself sitting on the beach made you look like a shaman chanting a spell.
Hahaha..
Now.. now.. let's get back to reality, ok.
Who doesn't want to spend his/her days on a beautiful paradise?
Tapi cuy..
However..
Ga semua bisa beruntung bisa liburan.
Not everyone is lucky to have a holiday.
It's not because most of people in this world don't want to be on paradise.
Tapi sikon tidak mengijinkan.
Things doesn't allow them to be there.
That paradise on earth needs quite big funding.
Lalu waktunya dong. Masa puas cuma berada di sana selama beberapa menit.
Time is another thing. You can't have enough to be there for few minutes, right?
The longer you stay there, the more money you gonna spend.
So for lots of people, the vacation to a place called paradise has to be put on the bottom of the list.
Hei, jangan sedih dulu.
Hey, don't look so sad. Now let me tell you this, there are certain heavenly places which is affordable for us and they are within reach.
Tempat yang mana aja tuh?
What places?
Perpustakaan
Library
So, who says beautiful place has to in form of beach or hotel?
Iya sih, dua tempat itu memang bagus tapi ga mutlak kok.
Ok, so both place is great but it's not an absolute one.
So, every town certainly has its own library.
The cool thing is Bogor has one cozy library that has cool collection of books and it's also a great hangout place.
Halah! Apa istimewanya sih perpus? Kagak menarik.
Oh come on! What's so special about library? It's uninteresting.
Not all library is old, rusty, dark and quiet.
My favorite library in Bogor is not big but it's a cool place. It has this warm and friendly aura. It's not quiet like in haunted house. Want to sit on the chair? Go ahead. Sit on the sofa? Sure. Lying down on the floor, make yourself comfortable.
Mau belajar bareng sama teman-teman? Ga dilarang.
Want to come over to study with friends? No regulation says you can't do that.
Kelar belajar kan bisa nyantai sambil baca-baca buku perpus.
Once the studying is done it's book reading time.
Tuh, asyik kan?
Cool, isn't it?
But how if there isn't any library in my town?
Wah, ya sutralah kalau gitu, kita cari tempat indah lainnya.
Well, if that's the case, ok, let's find another beautiful place.
Rumah tersayang
Home sweet home
Seenak-enaknya rumah orang, masih lebih enak rumah sendiri.
No matter how cozy other people's house, my house is my palace.
Ya, iyalah.
Well, of course.
We leave the house from morning to afternoon or probably even until evening.. so once we get back home.., oh it feels so good..
Kecuali kalau rumahmu adalah nerakamu.. ya kalau kayak gitu, apeslah nasibmu.
Unless if your house is your living hell.. if that's the case, well, it's just not your luck.
Tapi saya nggak punya rumah. Saya ngontrak. Saya tinggal di apartemen. Saya nebeng di rumah orang lain. Saya ngekost. Saya di asrama.
But I don't have a house. I rent a place. I live in apartment. I stay with someone. I stay in dormitory.
Ya ga masalah.
No problemo.
Make your domicile place as your home.
Home is the place where you can be free so you can walk around fully dressed or completely naked, fart or dance like crazy, drool while you're sleeping, make the house shine or sloppy like a pig's pen.. everything is up to you.. no one will protest it.. unless if you live with other people.
So, a house is the first and most beautiful place we can have on this earth.
Tempat kerja
Workplace
When someone says workplace it is not just an office room.
Bengkel bisa disebut tempat kerja. Dapur. Sawah. Kokpit pesawat. Kamar mayat (widih serem amat tempat kerjanya).
Workshop can be called workplace. Kitchen. Rice field. Airplane cockpit. Morgue (now that's one scary workplace).
The point is anyplace someone is doing his or her work is called workplace. So people, even the bathroom may turn into a workplace when someone is typing his or her report while he or she is pooping.
Ngerti ya?
You get the picture, right?
Nah, apaannya yang hebat banget sama tempat kerja sampe bisa dikategorikan menjadi surga dunia?
So, what is so cool about workplace that it can be categorized as heavenly place on earth?
Ok.. iye.. gue ngerti.
Ok.. yes.. I get it. Most of us think workplace is hell on earth. It is just turn into heaven on earth on pay day.
That is why I am grateful to have a workplace that can be classified as beautiful place.
Oh, I don't work on a high building in the capital city. Well it's not in the jungle either. Not in fancy hotel. But not by the river. It's definitely not in the presidential palace but it's not under the brigde either.
Yah, nggak usah deh saya kasih alamatnya.
Yeah, so I don't need to give you guys the address. The point why I consider it as beautiful place is because in here I can sit from morning until afternoon.
Duduk?
Sit?
Saya nggak peduli itu kantor pernah merangkap jadi ruang tamu, ruang penitipan barang sampe jadi tempat penitipan pacar atau pernah berposisi cuma kira-kira tiga langkah dari wc atau beberapa minggu ini ruangnya semakin menciut.
I don't care that office was once functioned as reception room, room to store from things to girlfriends or was once located just about three steps away from toilet or for the past few weeks the space has become more tiny.
Most important thing is I can sit from morning to afternoon. Only get up when I need to pee or do something.
So what makes it damn extraordinary?
Operators doing their work mostly by sitting for hours that making them classified as people who would likely get hemorrhoid.
Here's the thing, people, I rarely able to sit for hours at home. There are too many chores to do and so little time.
Tidak ada pembantu. Jadi semua kerjaan rumah saya yang kerjakan.
No maid. That's why I do most of house chores by myself.
Saya cuma duduk kalau saya lagi makan atau lagi nyuci. Selebihnya saya sibuk kasak kusuk.
I only sit when I'm having my meal or when I'm washing. Other than that, I move here and there.
So you can imagine how happy I am to be able to sit for hours at the office.. haha..
It is what makes me put workplace in the list of my version of beautiful places.
Asalkan ada kamyuuu..
As long as I have you..
Tempat mana pun jadi terasa kayak surga kalau ada yayang bebeb di samping kita.
With bf or gf by our side, any place feels like heaven.
Bener kan?
Am I right?
Iyalah.. cinta bikin semuanya jadi indah kan.. hehe..
Of course.. love makes everything looks beautiful.. hehe..
Dipikir-pikir mirip obat bius juga sih.
I could say it has similarity to drug.
Maksudnya?
What do you mean?
Last month I went to my ex boyfriend's rented place because I needed to get some things.
Kamarnya pindah.
He has moved to different room.
Sebelumnya dia memang pernah cerita kalau dia pindah kamar. Saya kaget waktu tahu. Bikin sedih juga.
He has previously told me that he moved to different room. It surprised me. Saddened me as well.
"Kenapa pindah?
"Why did you move? There are many sweet memories, our memories, in that room" I told him "I love that room"
But this new room is better, he said, there is bathroom in it.
Based on his words, I assumed this new room must be better in condition, size and location than the old one.
On that afternoon.. five months after we broke up..
Dia berdiri menunggu saya di depan pintu gerbang.
He waited for me infront of the gate.
"Kamar kamu di mana?" tanya saya bingung sementara dia menggenggam tangan saya erat.
"Where is your room?" I asked, feeling disoriented while he held my hand tightly.
"Kamu jalan duluan. Saya mau angkat galon air ini. Lurus aja. Trus belok kiri. Pintu kedua di kiri"
"Go ahead. I need to take this watter gallon. Go straight. Turn left. Second door on the left"
Saya berhenti berjalan. Menengok ke belakang untuk menatapnya. Ragu untuk meneruskan langkah.
I stopped. Turned around to see him. Hesitated to go on.
The thing is I knew turning to the left means going into the hallway which I just saw slightly without ever wanting to get in there because it's dark and a little spooky. There are rooms in there but I thought they were empty since everytime I was there I have never seen or heard signs of living inhabitants in there.
"Pintu kedua di kiri, sayang" dia tersenyum "Ga jauh kok"
"Second door on the left, hon" he smiled "It's not too far"
It is not hard to find it. The door was open and I saw things that I recognized as his belongings.
Ragu-ragu saya melepaskan sepatu.
Hesistantly I took off my shoes.
"Masuk, sayang" saya dengar suaranya di belakang saya.
"Come in, babe" I heard his voice behind me.
I had no choice than to get inside and stood in there while he walked in and put the water gallon in its place.
Saya mengedarkan pandangan tanpa beringsut dari tempat berdiri saya.
I looked around without moving an inch.
Kenapa lu mau aja pindah ke kamar begini?
Why in the hell did you move to this room?
Ok so there is bathroom inside but this room is so much smaller. The distance between the bed and the wall is not as wide as in the previous room. It made me afraid to move. Afraid I'd accidentally stepped on the meals, plates or glass he put on the floor. This was never be the case in his old room. We could move freely, we could sit side by side and there was enough space that allowed us not to kick on the food, drink, plates or glasses.
Kamar itu juga gelap. Lembab.
The room is also dark. Damp. Unlike his old room that got lots of sun light due to its position.
Duh, saya benci banget sama nyamuk.
Since it's dark and damp, there are many mosquitos. Geez, I hate mosquito.
Tapi saya diam saja. Tidak berkomentar.
But I didn't say anything.
"Let's eat" he skillfully got the meals, drinks, plate, glass and spoon for me "Here's the yoghurt. You said you miss it"
Saya makan pelan-pelan sementara kami ngobrol. Rasanya hampir seperti dulu lagi.
I chewed slowly while we chatted. It felt like yesterday.
Setelah makan..
After we had dinner..
"Kemarilah" tiba-tiba dia menarik saya ke pelukannya.
"Come here" suddenly he pulled me close to him.
Erat.
And I found myself being hugged tightly by him.
Bicaralah"
"You were quiet. Yes, you wanted to talk about something with me. So talk"
Saya pun bicara.
I talked. Letting out everything I wanted to talk, everything I wanted to ask including poured out all my upsetness and anger for him.
Dia diam mendengarkan.
He quietly listened.
Ketika saya berhenti untuk menarik napas..
When I stopped to take a breath..
Dia menunduk dan mencium saya.
He bowed down and kissed me.
At that time his tiny, dark and full with mosquito room was not become a matter anymore for me.
I was with someone who still loves and cares for me though things make us unable to be together anymore.
Psst by the way.., the above photo is not photo of his room.. hehe.. it's a place when I met someone who was trying to get to know me better, as more than a friend.
So there are many beautiful places on earth.
Cuma kan nggak semua tempat itu dekat...
The thing is not all of those places are nearby...
Dan murah.
And affordable.
Happiness is not determined by a place because even in the most heavenly place people can't feel happy, safe and peaceful.
But we can find all those things in modest place.
Intinya adalah bagaimana sikap hati kita, bukan tempatnya.
The point is, it's all about our perspective, it's never about the place.
When you hear the word 'paradise or heaven', I bet the picture of a vacation place in the beach with shaddy coconut trees, clear sea water, breeze of wind..
Or somewhere in the forrest, in between the trees, hear the birds chirping, the water flows on the river, seeing waterfall..
Kita akan menarik napas dalam-dalam.
We will take deep breath.
Merentangkan tangan.
Spread our arms.
Kantor begitu jauh rasanya.
The office looks so far away.
Tidak ada jalanan macet.
No traffic jammed roads.
There is no sound of ringing phone or enraged scream of the boss.
Tidak ada cucian menumpuk.
There is no piles of dirty laundry.
Tidak ada kekhawatiran, ketegangan, ketergesa-gesaan.
No worries, no tension, no rushing.
Even the fussy and whiny children can turn into sweeter than sugar ones in place like this.
Tidak ada pertengkaran.
No arguments.
Kebawelan ibu-ibu berkurang drastis.
Garrulous women become tame.
Semua menikmati saat ini.
Everybody enjoys this moment.
Charmed by the surrounding and the beauty in this place.
Damai.
Peace.
Surga.
Paradise.
